This receiver is designed to be used for the Gliders. FrSky built the variometer sensor into the RX8R receiver, this will give you telemetry data like altitude and vertical speed. The G-RX8 supports the redundancy function as well, this means you can add on another receiver to create a back-up in case one fails. In addition, it supports SBUS and PWM mode, you can switch between these 2 channels easily.

Receiver works great but comes with access firmware just update firmware to accst and works great thanks for the good service

BACKORDER - FrSky G-RX8 Receivers and "FLYING ROBOT"

Received my two FrSky G-RX8 Receivers on backorder today. Items were in good order and very well packed.

Very compact, and vario works!

It wouldn't bind at first, and after some reading I realised that the firmware mismatched that of my transmitter. The receiver update process worked first time with the cable supplied, and I had to update my transmitter as well. It binded immediately after that. I have set up the vario briefly and works well with my Taranis radio.
